Why I built podd.
podd was born from two of my biggest obsessions: the outdoors and 3D printing.
I’ve spent a lot of time backpacking, camping, and exploring places. And over time, I kept running into the same small problem: I never had a solid surface when I needed one.
My power bank, charging cables, cooking kit, fire starter, keys, snacks, and other small essentials always seemed to end up scattered around camp. On the ground. In a bag. Balanced on a rock. Half-buried under something else.
I wanted something simple that could keep those small items organized, protected, and easy to reach — while also giving me a usable surface wherever I was.
That idea became podd.
At its core, podd is an outdoor companion hub. It’s a rugged container, a small table surface, and a modular platform for accessories like the speaker cap. It’s designed to sit beside you at camp, by the water, at the beach, or wherever you need a little more order in the middle of the outdoors.
Because podd is 3D printed, I was able to design, test, and refine it in a hands-on way. Every curve, thread, cap, gasket, and detail came from real-world use and constant iteration.
It’s not just a container. It’s a place for the things you want close by.
That’s what I wanted outdoors — so I built it.
